"Polly's Pancake Parlor: This is monomaniacal place that was opened back in the 1930s by Sugar Bill Dexter, who wanted to show off what could be done with maple syrup. At the table, you get not only maple syrup, but maple butter, and maple spread and maple sugar. Plus, the pancakes are great, and made from stone-ground corn meal and buckwheat. It's a charming location surrounded by maple trees and very scenic. It's a lovely New England experience."

April 30, 2006 — Andrea Strong has organized Dining for Darfur, a "dine out" to help raise funds to stop the genocide in Darfur. So far, she's got almost 20 restaurants signed up — including New York City's Aroma Kitchen & Winebar, BarMarche, Bright Food Shop, Lassi, Park East Grill , The Harrison, The Mermaid Inn, The Red Cat, The Stanton Social, Tia Pol, Tuck Shop, and Union Square Cafe. When you dine out at these great restaurants on April 30th, they'll contribute 5% of their sales toward stopping this genocide and saving the people of Darfur.
