Dear Friends,
This month marks the official launch of our latest book WHAT TO DRINK WITH WHAT YOU EAT: The Definitive Guide to Pairing Food with Wine, Beer, Spirits, Coffee, Tea — Even Water — Based on Expert Advice from America's Best Sommeliers.
We're being featured TONIGHT — Saturday, October 21st — at 9:00 pm Eastern / 6:00 pm Pacific on Tom Douglas' Seattle Kitchen radio show, which you can listen to live on KIRO 710 AM via the Internet at www.kiro710.com. You can even call in live to ask us a question at (206) 421-KIRO. We'll hope to speak with you then!
The best part of being an author is being able to create a product that holds the potential to enhance the quality of human life on this planet — and, in the case of our latest book, arguably three times a day. The worst part of being an author is that with more than 175,000 new books being published every year (according to Publishers Weekly), the chances that anyone will discover your book (particularly if you don't have your own TV show, magazine and/or omnimedia empire) without an equally creative promotional effort range from slim to none.
Having just written what we believe to be our best book in a decade, we're not willing to sit back and take our chances. We want everyone to know about the extraordinary, affordable pleasures available to them at breakfast, lunch and dinner through taking a few extra seconds to create a conscious pairing of food and drink!
One of the bestselling books of all time, The Road Less Traveled opens with the truth that "Life is difficult." Our book WHAT TO DRINK WITH WHAT YOU EAT shares the complementary truth that (despite being difficult), life can also be pleasurable. And indeed the enjoyment of food and drink, which has been known to contribute to the peace and harmony of a society since Confucius' time, can bring more pleasure into our lives every single day.

A SALUTE TO WHAT TO DRINK's PHOTOGRAPHER MICHAEL SOFRONSKI
Many of those who have seen WHAT TO DRINK WITH WHAT YOU EAT have commented on the book's gorgeous four-color photography. We couldn't agree more! We were truly lucky to get to work with Michael Sofronski, a New York-based photographer whose work has been chronicled in The New York Times and The New Yorker.
A regular contributor to the New York Post, he has volunteered his time as a photographer on behalf of charitable organizations such as Doctors Without Borders (in South America), UNICEF (in India), and AmeriCares (in Mississippi, covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina).
Michael's portfolio — which ranges from the mouthwatering food and beverage shots above to portraits of everyone from Angelina Jolie to James Earl Jones to Donald Trump — can be found online at MichaelSofronski.com. We loved working with Michael as much as we love his work.
We thank you again for helping us get the word out about our exciting new book, and for all your enthusiastic support!
Delicious wishes,
Karen & Andrew
P.S. As always, we love hearing from you at Dornenburg@aol.com.
